Before I took this Technology course that I’m currently in, I had never heard of TPACK or knew what it entailed. By reading some articles such as “TPACK Explained,” and looking at some images such as the one posted below, I learned a lot of information .

This approach explains what teachers know, how technology is used, and how they teach. After reading articles and watching videos on TPACK, it has impacted my thoughts on technology integration in the classroom by making me realize how beneficial it can be. I never knew that so much went into online education, and if teachers are using the TPACK strategy effectively, then technology in the classroom can be a good thing for everyone. Most students/kids these days love being on technology in any way they can, even if it is in the classroom, so by doing online assignments and activities, they are more eager to participate and try without even realizing that they are learning along the way. The TPACK model is something that is going to be very useful for me when I am a teacher in the future, especially with the growth of technology in our society. As a future teacher, I am already planning on integrating technology for certain aspects of the curriculum, and having the TPACK model as a guide will help that be successful. This video, called What is The TPACK Model, goes into depth about each of the 7 components of TPACK and explains what each one is. It’s a helpful tool to use when trying to learn more about TPACK, especially for beginners, like myself.
